Workshops & Events
Each month I offer a workshop, each with its own primary focus.   Workshops allow students to dive into the practice in a small group setting and receive much more one-on-one attention than is possible in a regular class.   Descriptions of some such workshops can be found below.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call, text, or email anytime.

SEPTEMBER WORKSHOP:

MINDFUL MOVEMENT & MEDITATION

Saturday, 03/09/19

1.15 PM to 3.15 PM.

(35.)

Want to try meditation but feel like you're "not good at it" or simply don't know how? Not to worry!  Just like yoga, meditation is a practice that is developed over time.  In this workshop, we begin with some simple breath practices and postures that help reduce anxiety and stress.  We then take a journey together through a guided mediation and body scan, which is a great way to start your meditation practice as a beginner.  By the end of the workshop, students will have a new understanding of the benefits of meditation and restorative yoga poses, simple ways to practice at home, and a variety of tools that can be used day-to-day to help reduce stress and anxiety.  Prepare to relax with candles, sound therapy, aromatherapy, and other peaceful zen-ness :)

OCTOBER WORKSHOP:

VINYASA 101

Saturday, 04/20/19

1.15 PM to 3.15 PM.

(35.)

We will start with the basics, working on some of our most common poses such as downward facing dog and warrior I, and we will focus on learning correct alignment from the very beginning.  Together, we will work through a flow, step by step.  Although designed for the beginner, this workshop is open to students with any level of experience, as it is always beneficial to go back and re-learn some of the intricacies we tend to overlook during our day-to-day practice.  Students will have the opportunity to have real hands-on adjustments throughout the entire workshop, and plenty of time will be given to any questions students may have.

OTHER AWESOME WORKSHOPS

ARM BALANCES & INVERSIONS:

Open to all levels! You don't have to be an advanced yogi to start practicing arm balances and inversions, but if you are, that's OK too!  We will begin with a simple flow that will help us build toward the peak poses we will be practicing.  We will work through arm balances such as Crow Pose (Bakasana), Scale Pose (Tolasana), 8-Angle Pose (Astavakrasana), and Peacock Pose (Mayurasana).  And we will go over inversions such as Shoulderstand (Salamba Sarvangasana) and Headstand (Salamba Sirsasana).  For beginners, I will offer modifications to work up to these poses in a simple way, and for advanced practitioners, I will offer variations of poses to try and diversify their practice.  Students will have the opportunity to have real hands-on adjustments throughout the entire workshop, and plenty of time will be given to any and all questions students may have.

YIN & YANG:

One of my favorites to teach, this workshop celebrates these two opposing forces in our lives by working through a heart-pumping, vigorous flow, followed by a calming, restorative series.  We begin with the "Yang" series, which is all about our masculinity, strength, and endurance.  This portion of the series will be accompanied by fun, fast-paced music and shows us that yoga doesn't always have to be so serious.  We then transition into the "Yin" series, bringing out or femininity, softness, and self-care through relaxing, restorative poses, which are held for several minutes each to slow down the heart rate, expel toxicity, and accumulate mindfulness.   Students will have the opportunity to have real hands-on adjustments throughout the entire workshop, and plenty of time will be given to any and all questions students may have.

In addition, I offer group instruction for events, such as Bridal Parties, Bachelorette Parties, Mother's Day, Birthdays, etc.  These events may include tapas-style food offerings, beverages, and even event planning services. (prices vary)

I always take students' requests into account when designing and scheduling workshops, so please feel free to give your input!  Simply click on the "Contact" tab at the top of the page to send your message.
